A “Prime Ratio Stepper” is a hybrid stepper motor that has an increased stator to rotor tooth ratio. Where a standard stepper motor has 40 stator teeth to 50 rotor teeth, a ratio of 4:5, a prime ratio motor has 48 stator teeth to 50 rotor teeth, a ratio of 4.8:5. This difference means 16% more area of the face of the stator.
